Then I went back to having fun for 4-5 more years then 4chan found me again… as things REALLY started deteriorating. And what I realized is that back in 2012-2013 when I found 4chan initially that the reason I couldn’t view it easily was because I didn’t know I had to press catalog at the time to view the threads easier. So I guess I’m glad I fucked up cuz I probably would have been more drawn to being on here had I knew how to operate it… but since I didn’t I still got an extra few years of fun before shit hit the fan

My guess is our technical peak was right before offshoring our physical manufacturing to eke our margins - somewhere in the late 1970’s to late 1980’s. We’ve absolutely passed critical mass, EROI of energy sources is lower than ever before (peak oil was what, 1975?) and infrastructure along with sheer volume of increased load on said infrastructure is possibly going to be a tipping point. America is legitimately in decline - however, the whole international world is, even China, and falling empires can still fight to exist for another 100 years after the decline starts. Which sucks, but whatever.

We all long for a time in a world that no longer exists. All you can do in a field wide losing game is try to lose the least.
