I have heard about so called "zombie companies" in the US who have survived the last 10 or so years due to low interest rates. Supposedly these zombie companies could maintain a high debt load because all they needed to do is just service the interest on their debt. Now that we are going to see a higher sustained interest rate for an extended period of time, wouldn't these zombie companies start to fail? I would think that that would cause some hesitancy for a bull market rally.
