Now I have a useless degree except if I want to do translation, and I don’t want to. I’m going back to school for another degree but I haven’t decided which one yet.

Player pianos or pianolas were invented in late 19th century, what the hell were you thinking? Why would someone need a "bachelor of music" when you could buy a pianola to play your favorite songs? Not to mention music is already in mp3 format, which people can download for free in the web, music boy.

Thing is if he was actually a unique talent in music he would have money. Either he doesn’t have the aptitude or didn’t work hard enough, you would think someone that didn’t have at least the potential for music wouldnt go into it for a degree though. Fact is people go into “meme” degrees because they seem easier or more fun than the hard stuff a lot of the time but that’s just an illusion. They can still be lucrative but are actually hyper competitive. As a percentage, way more of the stem/business degrees can make decent money but the top performers in the arts mog their salaries and lifestyle hard. The arts are the easiest to complete but in terms of achieving success they are the hardest. It’s ok to go into them but Anyone going into them should be prepared to work 10x harder then the kids in stem

I did it because it seemed easier; it was. I thought being a HS band director would be easy. Turns out it was fucking hard. And the pay was shit. And I was sent to bumfuck nowhere to solo direct a grades 6-12 program. God what hell that was. Good thing I turned my career around and 5x'd my income. Music is a fun hobby that I want to get back into so I can be in touch with my creative side.

Checked. I got my cs masters fresh out of my bachelors program because it was paid for already so why the fuck not. I haven’t gone on YouTube for FL tutorials in years. But a lot of these people give ridiculous advice and workarounds that can be achieved with simpler methods. My only advice is this:

1. When starting a new flp, open up a Maximus channel in your master track, use the setting “maximum loudness without saturation” and bring the bass level down a bit.

2. Use this setting when putting things together, tweak some extra things in EQ 2 if things are too crisp.

3. Export Wav track when finished. Then open up a new flp, import your wav into the playlist, and use izotope’s Ozone 10 to give your track a final master. You can adjust things from there.

My songs come out loud without distortion every time.

Y-2: started no-name regional uni M.Ed degree while teaching band
Y-1 still studying and teaching and suffering
Y0: graduated with M.Ed, quit job, immediately cashed out pathetic teacher pension and went to Japan to find myself (and inadvertently fucked a lot of 40 year old Japanese women that creamed for this BWC -- highly recommended to anyone).
Y+1: Got a job across the pond in Southeast China teaching computer classes at a regional Chinese university. 2 days on campus a week for "middle class" play in China which was pretty good. Started learning programming more deeply
Y+2: Laid off from the uni, kept bumming around in China on temp visas, Did some side web development work on UpWork and for some friends
Y+3: Did some international student consulting work while still bumming around
Y+4: Back to the USA, got my CompSci teaching Certificate and got a job at a high school again. Started weekend masters classes at a big brand name /biz/ school at flagship well-recognized university. Started a startup focused on digital marketing.
Y+5: Sold my startup and I graduated from /biz/ school. Got a job at major university in my state running an on-site to cloud Sharepoint migrations and managing hourly student wagies in a callcenter to help senile professors reset passwords
Y+6: to today: I now work in sales for a very well recognized tech company and make much more than I did waving a baton at children and telling clarinets to shut the fuck up

My advice to you if you want the warp speed ultimate hack is to just go straight through and get your MBA at the highest possible ranked school you can get into. Finance it 100% with those Biden loans, make sure you Max them out to account for your cost of living. Do not, I repeat do not fall victim to the private loans which you will undoubtedly get unsolicited offers in the mail for at what seems to be attractive interest rates. The government loans have much better terms. When you apply to business school, just lie and say you did internships at the most prestigious firm of the field you were trying to get into. I promise they will not check and will never find out. Congratulations you just fast-tracked yourself to the upper middle class with the chance to actually make it in the corporate career track.

About the internships, what I mean is that most schools that are actually worth a damn will require two years of professional management experience. Just look up the LinkedIn profiles of successful graduates and current students and emulate what they are doing. Just lie because the corpo career track basically requires you to be, at a minimum, slightly psychopathic
