Gold and silver have always been and will always be seen as valuable to people, even a child will instinctively see them as valuable without out knowing their true worth. Certain traits are ingrained into the human psyche as valuable and worth seeking out. The first is shine, scientists believe humans are instinctively attracted to shiny objects to aid us in seeking out and finding water, because of waters reflective properties. Second is weight humans subconsciously associate weight with value. I remember a few years ago Beats headphones being under heavy scrutiny because it was discovered they were placing blocks of metal in their headphones to give them more weight causing customers to believe they were of a higher quality than they truly where. Third is durability, people don't like to place value on objects that can be easily destroyed with exception to artistic pieces and even then the value speaks more to the skill level and time required to make an object that is incredibly small, large, or intricate out of a fragile material another exception is portability people will trade durability for portability for instance a mobile phone or camping equipment however people still expect a certain level of durability. Gold and silver possess shine, weight, durability as well as portability and therefore even with out their current value and dependence on them in industry, will always be viewed as valuable regardless of what new fiat is conjured into existence from thin air.

in all seriousness thats a MASSIVE problem for commodities trading. IF it turns out that the LME has been defrauded or been bullshitting its customers, the markets will go bonkers. The LME have been trading for a century, their trusted by everyone. You cant trade commodities if the trading house isnt trustworthy.

when it comes to anything Uganda says about its resources, expect fraud. The country releases these geologic reports all the time with only basic sampling to back it up. They have gold, but its not the hundreds of billions they were saying it is. They have a set of incredible copper cobalt deposits last mined in the 1950s that no ones interested in, the last time a company came in to develop the property the state annexed the rights back and the company was bankrupted. dont get me wrong, africa is a god dam treasure chest of goodies including gold, but its just such a pain in the ass to mine there, even the chinese recently gave up on a gold mine in DRC worth 4 billion because locals kept stealing the steel culverts on the access road. It cant be mined with locals hostile to your efforts, so you end up with these giant militant run slave pits you see on VICE. Another massive silver gold mine was flooded a few months back by locals, it was a canadian run juniors project, the locals blew up water lines and flooded the underground mine with a shift working, killing 4. I ll find the news release in a bit.

Africa has all the resources we could ever dream of, but their only that, a dream until its workable to operate there.

yeah EIC is legit, assuming you're buying from a reputable bullion dealer. minted in St Helena, where Napoleon was held capitve iirc. i've only ever bought their 10oz bars, they have a face value of 10 GBP.

Cool. I might see about buying some then. But I'm gonna get shafted on import charges (ebay for example automatically charges it even if customs don't bother to check, bet they pocket that if they don't). Some of the St Helena coins are fire, like the una and the lion ones.

the most likely scenario i can think of for this is the guys in charge of verifying material coming in havent been doing their job. Its likely fraud against the LME, by Indian or similar groups selling garbage as commodities concentrates, knowing they wont face punishment in their home countries. Its wild that it happened though, the LME has been pretty good at catching fake / bullshit shipments before.

>It doesnt seem like something that you would want to go after, why not copper or zinc?
I believe it's the other way around fren : they aren't especially going after nickel, and it's because nickel isn't considered a big deal that they got caught.
Me think the exact same shit is happening with copper, zinc, tin, plat,.. and most of all gold and silver. But they must be more careful / bribing better while messing around with other, more tightely controlled and sought after commodities.
The nickel mess is probably a mix of arrogance and carelessness from the (((fraudsters))).
Or the ppl behind the nickel traffics are either considered an annoyance by bigger fishes, or it's to give a bone to gnaw, acting as a diversion while far worse stuff is happening with other commodities.
Gold vaults especially must hide x10000 larger scandals only waiting to be revealed. Hell, we are to a point where the majority of the popultion don't even expect fort knox to have any gold left inside.

Kinda remind me of the dockers in large trade hubs, where it's literally the drug cartels deciding who to hire and after a decade you end up with 100% of the employees being cartel members, from the unloading crew to the custom officers to the fucking boat captain.

The stuff the LME was delivered is usually verified at a port during offloading, thats how the first fake shipment of nickel was detected. The crews noticed it was spray painted rocks, not ore. The stuff discovered in storage was discovered during inventory, so it got past the first net. Its going to be interesting to see if we ever hear more on this.

Russia being Russia, I think they have a utterly huge stockpile of gold, unfortunately though for them they are or will have to be selling that bullion sooner or later to keep their economy afloat. Also tack on that someone may sell some of that gold under the table while everyones busy. China has been buying gold at a mad pace as well, but we have no idea how much they actually have. Its the same problem the russians have, they are probably periodically selling chunks off to keep their economy looking better than it actually is, through backroom deals.

China also has a way bigger problem with bank / financial fraud lately than Russia, which boggles the mind. There was an official in Central China that had hundreds of thousands of ounces of government marked gold in his basement, we never found out where or how he got it.

Interesting. I also heard that Russia, cut off from Western banking due to sanctions, is using its gold to pay for trade and services. Sounds like some cool transactions occuring in Siberia and stuff. Speaking of, how much validity is there to the theory that Russia might end up being protected from Western banking collapses, since they're already so shut out from them? Would be kind of ironic.

>I hate this world so fucking much it's unreal.
But a (good) blowjob is hard work! (Or so I've heard). And I'm all for fair wages, so it's all good, fren. Plus, it was nice and sunny /out/ on the river.

Congrats anon! Nicely done. Prospecting seems like fun. I'm curious though, do you throw up some music and have a beer or something while you're at it or is it more like when you're on a hike and just concentrate on what you're doing and the landscape that's aound you?
For you personally, that is.

I don't listen to any music when I'm /out/. No matter if it's hiking, biking or skiing. I just want to be /out/ and not do anything else. Also, with the latter two, I also deem it a safety risk. I just need all my senses when I'm on the move.
With prospecting, that of course is not really an issue, but still, I don't like it.
Plus, I wouldn't recocnize if there's other people. So far, most seem to take it positive, mostly some nice quick chats. Last time, some boomer couple was hiking by, and he jokingly asked me if I'd found his wedding ring he lost in that river years ago.

Forgot: I only listen to music when I'm lifting. Not much scenery to take in, in my home gym. Mostly watching some series or youtube, though.

Good call. That looks chill af as well, anything that impairs your perception would be a waste. Would love to go hiking there, but there's an ocean in the way. Not surprised that boomers joke about it. Bet they can appreciate the foresight.

Russia has its gold in the ground and China keeps its gold in basements. Russia is probably selling as much gold as they can to China.

>>54187085
Ironically indeed, Russia is now very well protected from western banks. The downside for them is their trading partners would get fucked hard, which would weaken Russia's economic base, but that would just cause those trading partners to rely more heavily on Russia and less on the west, resulting in a net benefit. It's important to remember that Russianiggers calculate profits not in currency, but in vodka and clay.

The boomers got delayed again, and the crusaders got pushed back so they wouldn’t arrive at the same time as the boomers as it’s one guy having to bag up and mail out all of them. So they extended they until the end of this month. I’ve had everything I’ve ordered from them with previous coins.

JM usually has decent prices on the corona restrikes for whatever reason. they are owned by Amark which also owns provident, silver.com, bgasc, and has big holdings of Silvergoldbull (like 14% or something).

also check gainesville coins online for austrian corona restrikes, they usually have good prices too. i personally have never ordered from them, however so i dont know how their service is

Is that some kind of weird British slang for "stack more?" That doesn't make any sense.
