>just got a new job as an engineering technician at an aerospace company
>am soon turning 24, with this position being my first career job
>60k a year, 4% 401k matching, company bonuses, etc etc
>have about 30k in student debt from my bachelor's degree but I'm living with parents and have no other payments to make

What is the best way to accumulate wealth and get as much time off as I can? My goal is to be high-tier middle class and have tons of time to actually use the money I make. Is that possible with my career path?

Good Job mate. Keep in mind you may not get the 401k match unless with you're with the company for a minimum number of years. Get that debt paid off and get your own pad (land you own) asap. Part time jobs on the weekends like UBER can be really fun and a good way to stack cash (if you can handle normie extroversion). With your career, after a few years, you'll have the experience to get a remote role or a traveling role. I know a mechanical engineer who travels all over the US for work on his company's dime and can afford all the latest toys.

I interviewed for an angel investment group for a remote administrator type position, it was 40 bucks an hour for 20-30 hours of remote work per week, mostly taking notes and updating webpages. Would have been fucking awesome to do that and fuck around, but I'm happy I got a stable position in my field instead. They gave it to someone who already did that type of shit before, as it was an immediate fill position on a 4 month contract, but I'm not mad.

You may make equivalent money now, but your future prospects may be severely limited. As a technician (not even a full engineer, mind you), I'm making the same cash and have significantly higher likelihood of being promoted into further positions that pay much more, at least into low six figures. STEM majors outside of super autists that specialize in cutting edge stuff or software rarely start off with big money, they typically get upper five figure salaries until they gain around 5 years of veterancy.

Why are you working as a technician with an engineering degree? Get a real engineering job or you’ll never advance.

And 62k is horrendous with an engineering degree, that’s the starting wage from 2011. You should look to be at 80-90k in a year as an actual engineer.

Yep. Going to buy my own truck which would be a 2x on OP salary on the low end. Then add wagies under me. Each one is equivalent in net profit to adding a median American income to my personal income. Trucking is easy when you're not retarded (look at the IQ median for it as a career and that's a higher bar than you'd think).

The problem with career advancement in engineering is the hyper specific job qualifications. You can spend 10 years in one area of the field and then try to hop into another area and they don't care what you've done, it's like starting all over.
While a forklift guy is just a forklift guy, all the forklift employers know he's a forklift guy and that his experience is doing forklift stuff.
In engineering, if you don't have experience using their hyper-specific technology then you might as well not even have a degree.

>History teacher at a posh private school after a few years in public education.
>90k euros a year. Honestly more than I need, I spend only around 4k a month and live the way I want. I save up the rest in various ways.
>Actually like my job, the kids are not retarded here, school is nice and well equipped, admins are sensible, don't get shit from the richfag parents because they want the teachers to actually try education their kids.
>I hold 20 classes in a normal week. With various preparation work and some of the extra group activities I organize, it's about 30-40 hours a week.
Overall comfy as fuck and I enjoy going in every day because I get to do what I like and the negative sides of the profession are minimized here. The kids are also great. I expected rich kids to be spoiled, but they are quite nice and hard working. Even the ones that are just plain not interested keep quiet in class and don't try to make the teacher's life harder.
It feels weird to say this at 26, but I might retire from here one day, since pay raises are basically guaranteed with time and it's a stable job with tenure.
Who knew a meme history degree would land me a cushy position.

Sounds like an interesting gig. I'm sure you've researched your next couple career progression roles and determined that they pay enough to justify the low starting wage.
I'm a senior susiness analyst for a large ish corp and I'm part time these days, salary.
I used to regularly get asked how I could afford to be part time by people who made even more than me, or what I even do with my downtime.
It's cope from them in the same way that I cope with the existence of professional NEETs.
I consider myself to have struck a great balance of work, family and hobbies. I don't see friends as much as I should, though.
I think most of my co-workers live in the city and constantly have new cars and put their kids in private schools etc. My wife and I both grew up poor and love the freedom of the country, so we live much further out and my savings likely grow much faster than my colleagues.
