>assume this is true: two dudes are campaigning against each other for mayoral election. The race is neck and neck, either can win. Whether they are the same party or not is completely irrelevant. Man A and Man B
>write a letter
"Hello Man A, I heard you were running against Man B. I like your policies, but I also like his. If you give me payment for political campaigning, I can advertise that I support you through my business." (I own a local small business that sells tacos) "If you refuse, or Man B's offer is better, I will campaign against you. If this letter leaks to the press or becomes public knowledge or Man B learns about this, the deal is completely off."
