Being a neet for a year after getting my degree was demoralizing because I was so caught up in how far behind I was compared to my peers even though I outperformed them in school etc.

I've been on both sides, and I'm lucky in a lot of ways that have me a leg up in love and pursuing 'success'.
I don't want to sell you on something that's not for sale to you specifically, I'm glad you've got a life that makes you happy for the most part.

It's western society's problem that there are fewer families and fewer kids. With the further fracturing of national identity via replacement and growth migration, it's not something that's getting better any time soon.
It doesn't get me down, though. I'm building a great life for my kids, better than I ever had. Two loving parents, a mother that doesn't have to work, no public schools with violent kids of drug addicts.
On my current trajectory, I'm hoping to have a second home that they can move into when they are old enough to need independence so they're not getting fucked by renting.
My best friend is more successful than me in business but might never have a family because of landing women that turn out to be psychos. That's society's loss if he doesn't have kids. I just want him to be happy.
