ha, no. this is a field with a low barrier to entry, it doesn't make a lot of money unless you get some lucky gig. I don't work remotely because in my job I have to do "production" which means making physical signage.... hours are 7 - 3 or 9 - 5.

Graphic design is one of the greatest grifts of modern times. If you are some art fag who thinks you will get to be creative, good for me. You are a retard. The goal is simple, manipulate normies with pictures. It's childs play really. Red makes them angry. Blue calms them down. Once you stop trying to be an artfag and understand what you are hired to do, you can shit out half assed work in 10 minutes and tell your boss who doesn't know what a .png file is it took 8 hours.

Graphic design is a field with a very wide potential income range. It’s such a generic term. I hate calling myself a graphic designer because everyone thinks it’s a field exclusively for 22 year old art degree stoners

Agency work sucks. I struggled hard to get into a few to try make it into a cool creative workspace when I had more motivation. They work you like a dog, expect you to always be doing over time and each place has a weird creative dynamic that drips down from the senior designer. I would go for some in house roles at some small-mid sized corporate shithole.

Think about all the software you know. Some of it is shit and makes little to no money. Some of it is a daily utility that always works and is ubiquitous life infrastructure for almost everyone.

Depending on which type of project you are on, it will pay massively different. It isn't surgery where we are helping a handufl of people per day each day, with a massively valuable event for each customer.

Software pays well if you have a shit ton of users paying a bit each. Europe produces very little software with massive userbases.
