Probably going to be resolved last minute.
It's definitely not the best time for a strike, but the company likely can't handle even a week. They can barely handle a few call outs.
A strike should only happen if pensions or health care was cut back imo... I'm glad O'Brien is pushing for better compensation tho. Right now UPS is only offering like half the wage increase as last time. I think O'Brien just wants a better pay increase and it'll be settled.

Hopefully the strike doesn't happen tho. I don't think most people want it

UPS is a decade or two behind technology. Their hubs should be fully automated by now. They treat their hardest workers like shit. That company can go fuck itself.

Where is there a better a hub? Amazon? I have been to quite a few hubs in and I have not seen anything significantly better than UPS.

They voted 97 percent in favor of a strike. I agree a deal will most likely be reached last minute too. They will probably get a shitty compromise I would guess.

i work there. i had no idea this was going on. i don't pay attention to union stuff and don't give a shit.

but saw something happen last week. one of my coworkers im cool with attended a teamsters meeting, and one of the managers saw him leaving. the manager started to breeze him out and told my coworker to give him his work ID.

my coworker says:
>"nah im not going to"
manager:
>"ill call security and have you escorted out"
coworker:
>"go ahead, i'll call such and such [union rep/shop steward i presume]"

the manager ended up telling him to go home. and my coworker skipped 2 days of work. after i went to inquire about why he wasn't at work. it seems it was this union drama. i had no idea. and i still dont give a fuck lel

Idk about any strike but I observed a few years ago that with how many people depend on delivery now, it would be crippling if something happens to our transportation network.

There would be no better time than now. They just got off record profits from the lockdown. They should be well prepared to holdout longer than they can bear. Also their employees are more worthless than ever before.

I mean that, if someone uses the uncommon word "financier" all the time and with such venom, it's probably not simply about finance.

I work for a similar outfit, I repair the forklifts. I'm separated from most of the reasons you would hate a company like UPS because my trade is pretty much identical sans the actual thing you're repairing and where you are repairing it.
Every huge warehouse company is all the same. They all suck, lie and tell you they love you. This is false. They hate you. They pay what they pay. If you think it's fair, good, bad, it's your problem. If you hate it bad enough, the place down the street pays $2 more an hour almost in a perpetual loop of potential raises.
It too is also a huge warehouse.
It's raises all the way down the lane.

Strikes are always good.
The people who say they can't strike because they're single with 2 kids are all literal fed robots created to sow disorder among the righteous workers.
