Dear diary,
Today wasn’t really a good day. I turned $400 in to $900 on a shitcoin over night, but my stocks have been dumping for two weeks and I don’t know what to do with my cash.
Burrdawg bought millions in puts as he stared at me smugly with his Illuminati eye. Last time he was wrong (he did apologize, which was nice), but this time he was right.
I just feel like I’m never going to really get anywhere with this investing thing. I always sell too early. The things I hold like ETFs are still up 69%, but there’s no thrill in that. It’s just a slow climb toward eventual monotony.
*sigh* Someday I’ll make it, diary. But today.. today was just another day.
Yours truly,
Nigger Faggot

Your therapist is shit then and I've told you that before but a few months back you said something I don't recall that convinced me you should still go to them. I now question that once again. I think you should tell them that it is a very dangerous line of thinking and no human whatsoever can weigh/judge such a thing. The principle error of all humans is to either over or under value a given thing. This includes the "value stack" (the arrangement of all of these evaluated things into priorities relative to each other). So, no matter what answer you come up with, overwhelming odds are it will be wrong relative to ultimate truth, and likely the best you can hope for is to hit on something that is considered to be in agreement with "human consensus" which is...look around...fuckin' retarded. Think about Zen in this regard. What the fuck kind of shit is that, for a therapist to put you to thinking about "deserving" things (good/bad/whatever). They must have learned that shit in therapist school!

Perhaps they are going somewhere worthwhile with it, I just think it's very dangerous, both ways. Your bent tends to be towards the negative (don't deserve anything or deserve bad things), which is bullshit, and others tend to think they deserve "too much". At any rate, please never forget what I have told you before about discovering positive thought patterns that you can repeat to yourself in order to displace the negative and effectively "reprogram" yourself in a willed, controlled manner. Essentially you're removing the ability of negative repeaters you carry around every day to keep their roots in the soil of your mind, and you intentionally replace them with shit that is beneficial Obviously, choose very carefully, and refine it as you go, but "just about anything" can be better than some types of things. Tell yourself better shit, man.

Walmart wagie here (our ER comes out tomorrow!)

Big corporations aren't stupid. Anyone who's been around long enough knows that business goes in cycles and wall street demands constant growth. Walmart's entire business model is doing an economy of scale and minimizing costs. There's been a large emphasis on our managers about reducing controllable expenses. Theft is a concern and definitely been on the rise, but most of the costs for us comes in two places: employee wages and compliance costs (not reporting accdients, time lost fines, etc)

We get most of our revenue during Q4, which is winter time. We have like 6 seasons at our store (which often means a busy month and then a quiet month or two). Christmas, March Break, Easter, Mother's Day (flowers), Back To School, Thanksgiving, Halloween. Anyways, later summer and early autumn is not a busy time for us. They cut back. I average 28 hours a week, and we went to a new work structure recently. This was a pretext to cut hours across the board, but good wagies got to keep their hours. Younger workers don't know the business flows and fuck around and aren't productive. If you're in a cost-cutting environment, you don't give them more hours than you have to.

Pic related, it's my "sheriff star" (as my compliance manager called it) that I won a few weeks ago for being a good wagie

Not sure. Our store manages to be one of the top 3 in our region (of like 14 stores). It feels like we have a skeleton crew and some weeks, the warehouse gets fucking bogged with freight, which is more demoralizing than being bad.
There seems tovbe pricing strategies to entice spending, like clearances on more items and for longer, and promoting the every day low price shit for essentials
I know our store does manage to beat HO's metrics for revenue by about 2%, but I cant imagine the other stores are as well. Also possible that they keep targets low just so we can exceed them. Really, winter is the quarter that matters the most.
Other ERs seemed good this season, and talks of inflation stayed high. I can see it going either way, with cost cutting strategies being a talking point. Self checkouts might get removed.
Oh and food inflation. Some stuff like coffee or honey, we retail big cans of it for $21 and $16 respectively ... we profit like $0.40 on it, its a way to get people in the store

I don't do spreads, it's a scam to get another $0.65 per contract out of you. You are either right on direction or you are not. And I give myself a buffer of how many times Im willing to buy more to find out if I'm right or not. And I take my gains at the first sight of them, so I usually miss out on the huge moves because I will take my profit when they are shaking people out before the 2nd leg up or down. I'm not gonna fuck around and find out. Whenever I take a big loss like the $70k heem it's because I ignore that buffer and go beyond my self imposed limit and just let greed and anger and the "fuck it yolo" mentality cause me to do stupid shit like risking 50% of my portfolio and then taking a 10% loss on it when I come to my senses and realize I need to GTFO and preserve my capital. Literally a 98% win rate over 200 trades since mid June, but 1 had heem has me deep red and will take me months of good trading to get out of that hole now. And now because of that hole I don't want to take the small loss when I have to. When you are right 98% of the time you don't want to admit you are wrong or stick to your risk management strategy when you have the capital to keep fucking around with. It's a nasty viscous cycle that I am trying to break. I feel like all I need is more human interaction to keep me humble and in check. But thus is the nature of trading. Currently looking for a job just to do other shit for a while. Trading will always be there if I want it to be. But I would have made so much more money just letting my black rock Jew buy and hold diversified etfs. But I fired him and went MM funds instead and have slowly chopped my accounts down like a real bobo

Also I trade SPY and QQQ short dated options like a high frequency algo, except I'm the human algo. Which I guess works until the human breaks the rules. I'm not sure if I'm disciplined enough to not break my risk management rules. Like I said I feel like all I need is to be around a group of guys and have some human interaction and that would keep me from a lot of the stupid shit that I do when I'm all by myself for months at a time without any interaction with others. But idk if I'll ever get that with how my life has turned out. So I'm currently looking for other shit to do besides trading because truth be told I don't really need to do it if I don't want to. And I've pressed a lot of buttons and subjected myself to a lot of unnecessary stress to not beat the buy and hold mumus. Does feel nice to know I could make money on red days, but not enough to overcome my own stupidity

It soinds like youre only trading delta... spreads are more if youre trading IV or hedging risk from selling theta. Though I agree, directional is probably the simplest way to do it.

It's not, I can send you my excel file with all my trades. But the truth is you can still be a losing trader with a 98% win rate. But it has nothing to do with the strategy itself. It has to do with being able to not break hard rules when there is nothing stopping you other than you. Day in day out. Every single day. Idk if I have that discipline. Sort of, I basically just use options to avoid the T+2 settlement time on trading long shares and can get that sweet sweet leverage profit while only risking $7k on a play. And really my risk should be about 50% of that $7k because I'm supposed to cut out and take the L when my alloted capital is fully deployed and it's down 50%. But that's when I get zesty sometimes and will instead keep buying because a) I can afford to at the moment and b) because I've done it before and it's worked out many times. I know what the narrative of the day is, what the data drops are, where the MAs are on both short term and long term time frames and I know where the market currently is and what the price action looks like. And then I make a determination on which MAs are next to get tested, and I place my bet and I'll exit when it's green, even if it doesn't actually go and touch the MA line I thought it would, if it gets close enough and I'm green, then I'm out. Not going to stick around and miss out on green when it's there. Sometimes feels shitty when you take 3% profit and you look later on and it coulda woulda shoulda been 50% or more. Avoiding losses in the long run is what matters, though. Youll still win and lose some.
What you dont want to do is cut your winners and hold your losers, that shifts the P&L bell curve into the red.
Are you able to do that? Tweak it so you have a bracket on your open position so you can TP at a 1-2% win, but leave a trailing stop so you can caopture those 5- 10, 20% runs.

>> No.55860310

Volume doesn't matter. I make or lose money when the underlying moves. 1 pip DAX gives me 1 Euro for 1 position. It's 1:1 trading on the underlying, no greeks what not added.

Pretty simple if not the simplest thing. It has overnight costs. But currently I get money for shorting, so I'm winning either way. I get about 20% interest on the capital I use, lol. So it's better than putting it in a bank. I just don't have to be too greedy and risk getting liquidated.

But in the defense of options. I don't have a broker that is specified for options. IG has options but I have the feeling the spread is too large and thus not worth it for me. Too high risk to lose and not worth the effort of thinking it through.

This is correct. The only reason why I lose $70k in one play is because I'm trying to protect a losing position when I'm reality the $2k loss I'm trying to avoid is totally within my strategy and would be fine and actually the correct move to realize the loss and protect the rest of my month's gains. It's not a decision I have to make very often with my high win rate but I have made it multiple times in the past. It's just 1 day a quarter that I don't and then I'm giga heemed. It's just very tough to have that discipline every single time without exception. It wouldn't be that hard if I had other human interaction, but without that interaction, all it takes is one zesty thought and that's it, your heemed.

I thought it was more dovish. As they sounded unsure if to hike further because of economic uncertainty.

ECB will probably hike but not 100%. At least they try to sell it as uncertain, but will probably do to be on par with US, as they lack 1 hike behind.

And yes, it's all mood. Bad news is bad and good news is bad (retail 2 days ago, industrial production yesterday). All news/data doesn't matter anymore, never did. All mood/sentiment.

They expect property prices to increase about 7% each year in Germany, about 9% on average worldwide. In some places more than 9%.

If you use far dated contracts you don't benefit from swings at the beginning, so your gains come more around the end. But it seems like GF1! has strong contango so shorting the front month is beneficial as you benefit more from contango, because losses from contango typically intensify as expiry approaches.

Also my broker currently only offers feeder futures up to the one that expires September 29th, that's why I usually only deal in front month futures.

Stocks are best for really long term because you don't want to be forced to sell at a point when the markets are on a downturn. If you're expecting to cash in before 10 years, cash savings are a better option.

If you're paranoid, you can put money in market tracker ETFs which have a lot of history in being great performers. The S&P 500 ones are the current go-tos.

You should have some savings in easy access.

How do you think the stock market will work in the future when we have established colonies on the Moon, Mars and in orbit. Will they operate much the same as different indices today or will there be more weirdness due to different day lengths and a delayed connection to the Earth economy?

Would be nice if we broke from the pattern of the entire human race having red days.

The market goes up and it goes down but it mostly goes up. That's all you need to do. Get some low-cost ETFs and forget about it.

>But muh S&P returns

Then buy an S&P tracker. Given the scale of US companies it's pretty much a global etf anyway.

Again, just because their business is doing great doesn't necessarily justify their market cap ballooning endlessly.

AAPL has a 2.76T market cap with $394B of revenue in 2022
NVDA has a 1.07T market cap with their latest best quarter that annualises to $28.8B of yearly revenue
So maybe you can see the problem in saying that their market cap should go even higher.

I'd like to try that 50/50 beef/sausage chili too. Of course, it'd have to be with my coffee for water recipe.
Biggest surprise is TTOO being a based stock. That might well be the ballsiest call I've seen you make (I am sure you have made much ballsier calls but I can only speak for what I've seen in my time here). I scalped a few $ off it yesterday but only have 1 day trade left now. Oh, absolutely agreed on "kek baggies" poster.
