Why don't these boomer executives embrace WFH?

Shit is absolutely fucked in this city and yet I always hear about Singapore being the model city or country. Fucking hell. Nuke us.

nothing gets done with people working from home. it's total bullshit. get your ass up early and commute to work like the 'old normal' or start your own business if you don't like it, zoomie

Be a man and say it’s specifically because they’re making you come back, and that they can get fucked and how dare they be so u professional trying to guilt trip you. Might be able to stay wfh.

I did tell them I was only quitting due to WFH. Judging from the reaction I got I assume I'm not the only one.
I would never stay there though. I'm IT and two thirds of our team has left already. The recently gave me several dozen RHEL virtual machines to manage because our Linux admins left.
Things are going to hell.

because the truly bigMoney deals can't have a paper trail you fucking retard. same reason why banks without WFH do better than those that embrace it.

kek I love to hear it, our CEO is trying to get everyone back to the office too even though our teams work in different countries/timezones and our entire team and managers prefer WFH. 80% of them just started going back to the office just because he told them too, while me and the other 20% still WFH most days. I have an inside source in HR that says they're going to crack down on it and send an email to the 20% that WFH warning them that they'll be fired that if they don't come in every day.
It's crazy to think about how much effort and work they put in tracking everyone coming in/out, we have thousands of employees, and multiple systems they'd have to do to track it. That he's willing to threaten highly skilled professionals, most having been there 5+ years, with firing them for not coming in is so kek The whole place would fall apart, releases would be missed, customers would be pissed.
Part of me feels like it's just an excuse that can be employed to selectively layoff some team members while getting out of paying severance/unemployment, but we really can't afford to toss away our talent. But maybe he thinks the Indians we hired are competent enough to replace us kek (they're not).
Or maybe some deals made as >>55882757 mentioned, that seems like a likely case with how it seems to be happening across the board, and only once commercial real estate was hurt.
Frankly it's just another indicator of how fucked everything is that they need the tail to wag the dog to keep up a fake facade of high prices. Most people would be better off with a crash in the long run.
