the issue is, as it always has been, the devs. they keep making sites more bloated and they try to make them do more and more to the point that it's not a stretch to say modern browsers are just as, if not more complicated than the OS they're running on. It didn't have to be that way. The modern web is not anymore capable than it was in say 2008, yet hardware requirements have increased by an order of magnitude to run the latest websites/browsers. Code monkeys are to blame for this. That's who you should aim your pitchforks at.
