My parents have many millions and I’m not going to inherit any money until they’re dead so probably 60+. I don’t want my parents to die but they haven’t helped out with any major life milestone like paying for college and buying a house. I make 90k and can’t afford shit where I live. My gf makes 50k. We have student loans too and parents aren’t helping at all with those. Now they’re asking when we will give them grandchildren and at this point my gf and I are considering just never having kids because it’s too expensive. Why are boomers so dumb? If you want grandkids maybe you should have fucking helped out with our student loans or a house down payment at least. What’s the point of giving me 5 million dollars when I’m already an old man and too old to raise kids?

No I honestly don't get it. As a parent myself now, if my kids were ever suffering and I could trust them to not just blow it all up I would give them everything I have and go live like a homeless person. What purpose do I even have in life? I want my kids to have everything I didn't.

My boomer parents aren't that rich but they have like $2-3MM + 2 properties and their pensions give them $200k/annually so they never touch their savings.

Over the last year I've spiraled into a severe depression brought about by financial ruin and the one thing they offered me was $50,000 towards a bigger house if I want one. "Just go spend $1MM+ you don't have with 7% interest rates, we'll give you $50,000".. what the fuck is that? It didn't even make any sense to me when they offered, I just said "thanks, I'll let you know".

I feel like boomers take their wealth completely for granted and don't understand how hard it is to have a normal life these days because of economic hardship. They grew up during the most prosperous time in the country and they can't begin to fathom what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck with no hope of retirement.
