Hello /pmg/. I have around $2,800 in a bank account and I want to prevent it getting eaten up by inflation. Is silver or other precious metals the way? If so, how should I go about doing that?

In order of importance:
>how and where do I store it? Locked in a small safe at home? At a private storing company?
>should I insure it against theft and loss?
>what is a fair price range?
>I’ll be adding more money after saving from each monthly paycheck, should I also buy metal every month?
>who do I buy the metal from?

Also Pastebin is blocked in my country, so I can't access the link.
(Shit, didn't see the other thread was at bump limit already)

Small safe is just an invite to theft. Good as a decoy. Either a BIG safe or clever hiding place or both.

Don't really know about insurance. A home owners/renters policy will cover theft but you might need a rider for precious metals over a certain amount.

Fair price is whatever is the cheapest you can find. Choices are online dealers (see list in OP) and local coin stores. Ebay also works but you need to be more careful about the dealer.

I suggest buying as much as you can BUT do not get over-extended. Always keep enough cash on hand for emergencies. Being forced to sell PMs in the short term to cover expenses is always a losing proposition.

By the way, people can torture you to reveal your hiding places too. I think the chances of that happening are incredibly slim if you don't advertise. But not zero. Far more likely is the smash and grab meth head who will wait until he thinks you are out, then break a window, spend ten minutes looking for valuables he can fence, and then run away. He will be thwarted by either a clever hiding place or a safe he can't carry.

The ratio measures the increase in the m2 money supply divided by the increase in the supply of silver, gold, or oil. The M2 money supply is now declining instead of increasing. So you can't have a ratio of the increase in the m2 money supply to the increase in a commodity if the m2 money supply isn't increasing.

The answer would be a negative number, and I suspect that usdebtclock.org is programmed to display 0 rather than a negative number. It basically says as much when you mouse over the field, and I included a screenshot of that mouse over in the video

Copper is completely useless for stacking. I just checked local dealers and 50kg (110 pounds) of copper costs $950.
Can you imagine dealing with big 50kg buckets of metal granulat? And buying another bucket from time to time?

To compare, $950 is 34 silver coins (1kg/2lbs) or half of a golden coin (15g/0.5oz)

Your silver will never be real money. Silver has no value, no liquidity, and will never be a currency.
Your silver is a shiny rock twisted by jews with paper manipulation into a crude mockery of economic perfection. All the "stacking" you do is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back jews manipulate you and laugh at you. It's counterparts soar in value and liquidity, all while the dust that settles on your stack serves as a metaphorical laugh at the idea that it will ever be worth anything.
The average person thinks your silver is worthless and laugh at you behind your back and mock you.
Thousands of years of economic evolution have allowed jews to manipulate your worthless rocks with incredible efficiency. Even goldfags who stack think less of you. Your financial fantasies are a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk farmer to trade his goods for your rocks, he'll turn for his gun when he finds out he's been scammed. Silver will never be money. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it's going to be ok, that your stack will pull you through, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight. Eventually it'll be too much to bear - you'll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss, leaving your worthless pile of rocks behind.
Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll bury you with a wooden headstone, and every passerby for the next 20 years will know a poor man is buried there.
Your body and headstone will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is an unmarked grave, and a pile of rocks that will be swiftly pawned off to the local corner store, and there will be nothing left. This is what you chose.
This is your destiny. There's no turning back.

>and 50kg (110 pounds) of copper costs $950.
> $950 is 34 silver coins

Really need to make a point for silver here. Or against copper, as you see fit. First, even going by as big of a stack you can get on a personal level, it's over 200% premium for your copper, considering the tonne of copper is currently trading at $8,000 on the LME. Most this overcost derive from the logistic/costs of transportation and storage of such a cumbersome commodity. Something to always keep in mind with copper, and metals in general : they are the manifestation of stored energy. And the energy doesn't derive from the extraction alone, but every step involved afterward.
Also, it's very unlikely copper is being targeted by a banking cartel trying to ultra-short it at every occasion they get to save face, so the margins must be more comfortable for the producers/refiners compared to silver.

If we use a scarcity scale alone, it's incredible to see how underpriced silver is compared to copper for example. Copper abundance in the earth's crust is 60ppm, vs 0.07ppm for silver. Meaning silver is 850x rarer than copper on this planet.
Yet, at spot levels, a kilo of copper is $8, vs $700 for silver, or only 87x more expensive. If scarcity was the only metric, it would mean silver should currently be at circa $220/oz.
$450+/oz equivalence, in your exemple of 50kg bits sold for over x2 spot. And to sky high levels if we talk about the cretins buying 1oz rounds / 10oz bars of copper at ridiculous premiooms. But it's insignificant and not worth comparing, as they only are a tiny fraction of 'tards accepting to get scammed willingfully.

But this scarcity example is also true for most metals you compare silver against. Only very few exceptions - including platinum and mercury - are even more underpriced using this metric. So it's a terrible metric to try to derive potential valuation, yet i find it really interesting..

Sure. Definitely don't go straight into meme silver aka picrel until you're an insufferable autist. The biggest problem with small gold purchases is the premiums which is why I don't advocate for fractional gold.

I'd save up a proportion with each paycheck towards PMs, and within that a proportion towards gold that I'd buy when it hits the 1oz level. I have a few 5g and 1/10oz gold pieces, but I think you should aim to get 1oz. Others may disagree

It's the price you pay to sidestep the leveraged losses we are all about to eat on stocks, bonds and real estate. A collapse in the bond market means all of the wealth and purchasing power will transfer to commodities and physical capital (capital represented by equities are already leveraged up and are worth pennies on the dollar).
With the bond market being twice the size of the U.S. GDP I will happily forego short term consumption for long term wealth ESPECIALLY in the middle of the worst financial crisis of this century.

The problem you are alluding to is the multi-generational timeline of the monetary system. At any given moment you are likely correct that getting into PMs you will most likely be early. However we are long since past the saturation point for debt/leverage in the economy, the central bank has ruined its balance sheet, and the rest of the globe is literally pivoting away from the dollar as reserve currency. Good time to be looking to PMs to protect oneself. Because problems for the dollar will occur outside of the U.S. and domestically we will be last to know. And given the saturation of debt the purchasing power of credit is also suspect given the leveraged nature of the banking system.
The last piece of the puzzle is that almost every other asset you own is already over-leveraged. So whatever you decide to put your money in just know that the purchasing power you forgo to buy it will likely be lost with said collapse of bank credit purchasing power. We already know that stocks are often backed by literal pennies per dollar of share price. We already know the housing market will implode without credit if forced to settle on a cash-basis.
And the nature of loss as a percentage of an asset's value means that if a collapse does happen to leveraged assets help by leveraged custodians then you could suffer 80-100% losses across the board as there isn't a snowball's chance in hell to make good on all of these bad debts, pensions, insurance, and bank deposits. "The system" persists on the back of the power of dilution, and there are a metric fuckton of bad-debts that need to be eaten and the more exposed you are to "claims" of wealth then the more losses you get to eat.
Having a horse-shoe shaped portfolio is idea where you can expose yourself to losses but keep one foot out the door.

The reason is that it is valuable material that is value dense without the need of the banking system. The amount of man-power, energy and time it takes to dig this shit up and refine it into a product ensures that it will always have purchasing power.
Americans really have no idea what it would mean to suddenly get rugpulled by the bank. They have little to no appreciate for how much debt/leverage is in the economy and the fact that historically countries maintain a net-0 trade balance. Most of our lives we have been the beneficiaries of a massive trade deficit and foreign demand for dollars is what is propping up much our our purchasing power. It's not McDonalds and whatever service economy we have that is so super-special. The changes are going to be for the worse, and even if you have a boatload of PMs I doubt anyone will entirely escape unscathed by the downturn. There will simply be less stuff to buy so the prices will be higher.

Soon Inshallah. We haven't seen the liquidity crisis yet. It'll happen before they start dropping rates again. Just keep mining fiat and getting ready to sluuuurp that dippity dip.

Not using your FREE stimulus money, to get FREE Silver and Gold...
Shame.
I would say you might get a second chance, but all of the USA's money is now being laundered or tied up in global conflicts.

do you think a gamble on $hrtx is worth it at this price point? they fired barry earlier this year. the drug is approved and being sold. covid is over. more label expansions are coming. currently $0.82. this was over $42 before approval and before the fda games started. under a dollar seems like a reasonable lottery ticket to buy

Hobbies are expensive.
Coin collecting is expensive.
Buying "junk silver" at low to near zero premiums, would be my suggestion for anyone starting out today.
20 or 30 years ago, 10% of 5 bucks, as a premium, wasn't a big deal...paying 3 to 5 dollars over spot, for a round, is pretty ridiculous. Especially since nobody buying will pay over spot... it's like throwing away 60 bucks a tube.

btw, i love the jewish game where small cap bios get walked down into the ground and then pieced out to larger companies for pennies on the dollar, fucking over all the original equity holders. and then we get to hear how drugs should be free. is there anything more jewish ha

Yeah...there again, I've had $1 stocks become penny stocks over night.
In order to make enough money on them to be worth a crap, you have to invest a fairly decent amount, aka buy a lot of stock cheap. 500 bucks for 500 shares, can easily turn into 50 bucks, in the dollar / penny stock market.

You can easily get over spot for coins that are in demand. For example, eagles in the US, wieners in Europe. Pic is current buy-back prices from largest european dealer. Silver spot price is currently 20.75 euros.
And I already talked about this in a recent prior thread, where I questioned the use of buying junk silver, when the buy-back for those is much lower, often below spot.
