Because it's a shitcoin. The value of crypto has always been Money (unit of account), the tech doesn't matter because the tech doesn't make it better money. A real practical universal unit of account massively increases the efficiency of economic calculation, as without a fixed point of reference actuate pricing (price carries information), requires great degrees of iteration, which are economically (time and resource) expensive. Bitcoin does not need to be used as common currency to produce this function, it performs this function fine as a free floating asset, as price carries information. Use as common currency doesn't encode new information as transactional friction between different monies is low, use as common currency is therefore wholly superfluous to it's function as money, alts will all go to zero because they add nothing.
