He's mostly right. It's just very boring advice that no one wants to hear. The key is to not make dumb decisions and get to the point where you're in so much debt to begin with. Almost all of the people who call in could be classified as clinically retarded.

My coworker is like this. He has 40k credit card debt and is going to take out a 401k loan to pay it off. He is constantly crying about money while simultaneously coming in on Monday morning estatic about the new gadget or crap he just bought. Eats out every single day, and not cheap either because he's a fat ass. We were talking about sushi and he let it slip that him and his wife always spend $90-$100 each time they go out. Pays for unnecessary home improvements because his wife wants it. Bought a 2k couch set and then replaced it 3 months later because it didn't match the new curtains his wife bought. Is a Nintendo switch addict. I could go on and on... Just a fucking moron with zero discipline or financial literacy.

A few months ago when that payment processing error delayed direct deposits for a lot of banks, he was freaking out crying because his mortgage payment was due on Monday and he had nothing in his bank account. The best part is we make over 100k and his wife also works. They should be comfy as fuck.
