how do i build the price discovery mechanism? im trying to find the shortcomings of a system that utilizes minute ticks where the price is discovered through a percentage difference between the amount of selling and buying for that tick. part of me thinks this would be a zero-sum game in the end. i can add in short selling, but in the end there can still be exploits found through a lack of actual supply of shares. thus, it may be best to have a float for each ticker that varies between the tickers, so $CHAD might have 10x share supply than $ONIONS, and then give everyone a starting amount of like 1k or some shit. but the problem still is that this can be exploited, so im trying to consider having market makers. but how do i assign market makers? or perhaps having people put in limit/market orders will create a sufficient spread/price discovery mechanism. the most important part of the entire system, and i need to spend some more time thinking about all the different possible exploits.

The market doesn’t just “overlook” companies, this isn’t crypto where things only happen arbitrarily. If it hasn’t skyrocketed and is in that industry, you shouldn’t fucking touch it. Period. The market gets an erection in any stock that says “AI” in the earnings call. If you do plan on buying, then you have to have faith that the bull run isn’t done yet. I think I see a major opportunity coming up here on Chinese stocks. It definitely depends if the jobs report and #TeslaTaxi just put the nail in the coffin of Chinese hopes again but if China gets some love its coming up soon.
