Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on the cash and securities in Robinhood accounts, much like a bank collects interest on cash deposits and by collecting fees from robinhood gold.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are *** and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-*** for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Nah it's cool, I'm still new but I reckon a conservative estimate of around .45 to .41, it's not much but it's a profit. No one here does that. The two main tactics used here are buy high sell low and buy low sell lower. To utilize the first tactic, wait for a stock to get pumped up and buy in hoping for it to go higher then sell at a loss when it keeps going down. The second tactic is done by looking for a dead stock that can't possibly go any lower, then sell at a loss when it does.

On a more positive note, i used this crater of red to pick up some more shares. Picked Namaste Technologies to average down on. Of all my mj stocks i think thus one has the most long term potential to be a national and international success. They're the only company in Canada focusing almost entirely on the retail side of the sector and, despite still being in the sub $5 penny stock range, have the second highest revenue in the sector (many mj growth companies have zero sales revenue right now). Also the CEO is good people and has been very transparent about his decision making thus far, gives weekly updates on Namaste's youtube channel.

not only that but with REITs that are based on mortgage backed securities they have the risk of losing the principle one mortgages are paid off, they also need to buy more mortgages to keep the divi going, sometimes that means they need to issue more shares to raise capital, issueing more shares to a company that pays high dividend means that dividend will have to be spread out to more shares, so lets say a REIT with 1,000,000 shares pays a dollar divi, $1,000,000 every quarter, if they have to raise funds and sell out another 1,000,000 shares, that $1,000,000 now how to be spread out to 2,000,000 shares. (thats just simple math)

Most beginner divi hunters don't know these kind of things, it took me awhile to learn it, the Divi hunting is a meme unless you know how to work the system and actively trade it

The wizardry is far to complex to explain on a 4chan post so this will just be an explainer on how to avoid the scams you'll see floating around. The important thing to remember is that investing is not baseball and there is no 'striking out' in investing. If you dont understand a company, or just have a bad feeling, you can just say "no" with no penalty. All that matters is the company you swing at with your investing bat is a good one and not a dud.

A good starting place when evaluating a company is the balance sheet.

http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/aapl/financials?query=balance-sheet

Take a look at the "Shareholder equity" line item. This is the value of the company if it was ordered to stop operating, disassembled and sold for parts. It should be positive. You should be very wary of companies with negative shareholder equity. Other good line items to look at is "Total Assets" (value of everything owned by the company) and "Total Liabilities" (value of the debts the company owns). Shareholder equity = Assets - Liabilities. Ideally, shareholder equity is equal to the market cap of the company but in practice it is lower. If the shareholder equity is a big negative number, you should worry.

Another good item to look at when avoiding scam companies is "Goodwill." I wont go into the meaning of goodwill, but as an asset I value it at essentially zero. Its very easy for a scam company to build up a huge goodwill without any effort. If you see a massive number under goodwill when compared to the total assets, you should worry. The other lines are also important, but you can understand them by googling their names.

Here is Chris Goodwin a popular figure in Canada writer for Cannabis Culture is now shilling weed stocks to hippies. He mostly got flamed in response because mah capitalism.

http://www.macleans.ca/economy/economicanalysis/investors-are-delusional-when-it-comes-to-canadian-marijuana-companies/
This has been what I've been saying about weed stocks, anyone in them is going to get fucked in the ass by government regulation

>It is not difficult to predict profit margins will fall under regulation and that current market cap valuations are predicated on unrealistic expectations.

>The Ontario Liquor Control Board (LCBO) and Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) effectively have a monopoly on the sales of most alcohol products in their respective provinces (with the exception of beer and some wine). The LCBO is one of the world’s largest buyers and demands much from its suppliers in terms of large quantities and price discounts. Minor producers, even in Ontario, who are unable to meet the demands of the LCBO must sell their products elsewhere.

It absolutely is fud. Media and certain parts of the government are attempting to cool the investment market on mj, both to please alcohol/tobacco lobbiests, and to push prices down for institutional investors who will be entering the market when legalization bill passes senate. It's a coordinated attack.

Dude I'm just trying to warn you that profits are not going to be crazy in the end.

30$ for a pack of smokes here, 8 before the NDP taxed it.
40$ for a micky, 18 before NDP taxed it.
??$ g/weed, NDP/Libs/Cons want to tax it the most.

Do you think those profits bleed back to companies, no. Have you looked into liquor producers shutting down because of low profits, noooo.

If you get into weed companies in the coming day and years you better hope they become BUD, TAP, STZ. BREW would be an interesting choice but none of the brewers that are a part of it are any good. Yet I do see their brands in every grocery store. What I'm getting at is that if you're going to bet on Soma it has reach as many people as possible. If you buy weed stocks hope it can grow into or get absorbed into one of those.
