implying I havn't lost my 60k job and have been jobless living at home for the past 1.5 years

any tips? I have 5k in WMT and it was up 800 but then went down to up 15 so i sold it and bought zillow which i'm bullish on. I rode zillow up to 140 a share before and hoping to do that again

buy index funds that aren't actively managed

they seek to track an index like the Dow or Nasdaq, and are comprised of the top 500 or so companies that make up the US market.

When the US economy rises, so does your portfolio, it's simple and effective.

Buying an actively managed index fund is bullshit, they don't perform better for the what they charge you to trade stocks around, all you need is a trustee to make slight modifications over the long term with index funds.

I have two suggestions.

1.) Buy US Bonds. US government bonds will do well when global markets begin to panic from globally rising interest rates. This is a position that you will likely need to hold for a couple years to see good returns. You can take on more leverage with futures and see higher returns, but be careful with leverage.

China is about to have a property market crash like the US saw in 2008. Europe and China will devalue and the dollar will strengthen.

2.) Short the yen with the US dollar. Japan is printing enormous amount of money with QE and it will likely lose control of its currency and default. You'll need a forex account and again, be extremely careful to not take on too much leverage.

I hope you don't kill yourself m8.

This advice sounds like some badass with a death wish would take and then come out at the end with a lit cigar and a big cut on his face bleeding and smile, flick that cigar and take OP's portfolio and watch it burn to the ground, then walking away in slow motion as money rains from the sky.

I mean if I had no income I wouldn't take that advice lol but it sounds really good actually seriously.

That is not suicide worthy, I am down 35% on a penny stock right now, fuck off OP! lol

Didn't you see the writing on the Wal_Mart?

Good solid stocks are going to be big luxury stores, Tiffany has gone up huge, what could be next is Nordstroms, I like Microsoft as the new Apple they have the Next Great CEO believe me, Ballmer is nothing compared to this guy,I like any meme restaurant, like if you ever hear of a place just buy it probably next Shake Shack.

People are into luxury goods, food and experience stocks, things that can upgrade their lives such as GoPro but maybe not GPRO but the next one know what I'm saying?

We have hit an interesting period in history where the zeitgeist is in experiences, long lasting high priced items, and away from cheaply made cheap shit from Wal Mart which is why thats down for you.

I wouldn't worry about Google stock. It is going to go up in the long term. I mean, Google is building cars that drive themselves for God's sake.

There was this one guy on /g/ whose wife bought out $2,000 worth of AMD shares at $2.30 or something like that. As of 12:50PM EST 5/29, it's $2.28, so it's not working out for them.

Nor is it working out for me at $2.33 entry.

AMD is either going to surge or go bankrupt.

The market is in a minor downswing. It's still above 18k, the only thing that's changed is the ridiculously easy free money we've all been making the past couple years has dried up.

Keep your holdings and ride it out. Get a job.
