Is lithium the next 10,000% gain? I'm beginning my research know 0 about it but know it's going to be big. Several reasons. Emerging tech needs it to scale, and two a limited supply.

Engineering student here. Asteroid mining is not going to be a profitable venture anytime soon. It would cost many times more to get up there and extract those materials than they are worth. Its simply not a profitable or necessary venture at this time.

>asteroid mining might be big, or ocean bed mining
Ocean bed mining probably will happen, but at what scale, no one knows. So far, I only know Nautilus minerals working on it, but so far, that stock is one of the duds in my portfolio.
Asteroids are going to be a huge thing if we get space-based manufacturing going, because >>7819734 transporting stuff too and from orbit is prohibitively expensive. And while SpaceX, BlueOrigin et al are certainly improving the prices, they can't beat physics. Mining, say iron ore (or even gold…) in space and getting it to earth is simply not feasible. Closest thing to becoming a reality is probably deep space industries which plan to mine asteroids for water, which then will be turned into satelite fuel or be sold to space stations such as the ISS.

Lay man fag here

Unless we can overcome the laws of thermodynamics asteroid mining will never be profitable, and when I talk of profitability I am talking about energetic profitability rather then a financial profit.

We will always be spending way more energy then we will ever get back trying to mine asteroids >>7819774 demand does not change reality.

Thanks for post op, Lithium will be one of the big hopium based green techs pushed on the masses, I expect abrupt climate change to get a lot more attention as the ice in the arctic goes away and starts to drastically change the environment.

Biztard logic, what percentage of cars out there are electric powered? Is it even 1 percent? There is tremendous growth potential for lithium.

>> No.7821570

>>7821077

Incorrect.
You can drop an asteroid on Earth using nothing more than a solar sail, so the energy required to do so is zero.
Now doing would be very stupid, of course, but it falsifies the notion that it's energetically impossible to bring stuff down from space.
It's sending stuff up which is expensive, not bringing it down.

>Bump also wondering which space companies I can invest into
Not too many, it seems.
Boeing and aerojet rocketdyne come to mind, as well as airbus and safran, but those are the ones that are probably having issues due to new space. Plus, they have huge defense and aero parts, so their space parts don'T really play much of a role for their shareprice.
Maybe German satelite manufacturer OHB SE?
