BAT has been on my radar for a while. For some reason I didn't look into it until today. I downloaded the browser and I love it. I don't know why anyone interested in crypto wouldn't use it.
But my question is about the token. It's pumped pretty hard over the last few weeks. Is now a bad time to pick up some BAT? I'm curious if some news cause the recent price rise or if it's just a random that I could wait to cool off and buy in at a lower price afterwards.

I've been using the Brave browser for a while without holding any tokens. Is there any incentive to hold them? It seems like I can enjoy the product without using the tokens.

I was wondering this same thing for the longest time. Don't have the source on me, but what I read was:
>Brave blocks all banner/pop-up ads
>Brave launches a new ad platform, inserting directly on the browser.
>Advertisers pay in BAT
>Content makers earn BAT (currently just YouTube channels, eventually all websites)
>Users also earn BAT just for viewing ads

Yeah I think so, because I don't think the ad platform is launched either. I tried out the browser a few months ago --- it was cool, but at the time I thought BAT was purely for tipping content creators. "NOPE... this will never work"

Hearing about their advertising platform, I could really see it working... basically cuts out the middlemen like Facebook & Google which keep 100% of ad profits and pay nothing to content creators (or viewers, for that matter)

Yes there is, just not yet. They are making sure to do KYC right, so they have no problems when the gov comes in with big dick regulation. This is only if you are a publisher, and want to take out the BAT. It can obv still be traded normally outside the browser.

Bat has a good solid ideas. It has pretty effective shills once you dig into the topic a bit. Its still just an ERC20 token at the moment.

My problem with bat is that while its still an ERC20 token it sits in the "Anyone can copy the idea with a better coin and do the same exact thing but better."

Bat still closely follows Bitcoins movement in value so if BTC takes a shit bat does too.

bro its easy to make a browser.

its not like Google has been working on chrome for years.

its not like Brendan Eich is an awesome software developer who created Firefox.

its not like its hard to make a browser thats faster than the rest, has tor tabs, has forced https, has fingerprint protection, and a clean UI.

The marketcap is not high anon, its actually very very low compared to other coins. The current digital ad lanscape is already plagued with fraud costing advertiser more than $15B a year. Ad companies like twitter and snapchat are also valued around $20-30B, ads are literally their only product. Marketcap for a mature brave browser with 100 million + users could easily be in the realms of 20-40B once you account for digital ad spend growth and fraud prevention. How does nobody understand this token?

Dont store your BAT in the browser itself. Right now the BAT wallet is not multidirectional. You will be able to earn BAT through the ad trials soon, but it will be a small amount ($5-10 month) you will be able to pull the coins out eventually, but i believe they will have to go through a company that practices kyc/aml laws, this helps prevent fraud. We could also see features like paying for netflix with BAT. Store your BAT on a ledger. You can add BAT to your wallet or you can earn it and donate or use for paid services in the future or pull out for cash.

If its added to coinbase in the next month or two you could see BAT ranging anywhere from $2-5. Yes thats good for the price, but the effect this would have on the browser is even greater. The UGP would be worth near $1B. That is $1B set aside strictly for marketing. From there you could see BAT grow from $5 to 20-40 over the course of a year or few. It would be a slow comfy hold, but you would be looking at massive returns.

Im pretty sure there is a wallet backup key. I personally dont hold BAT in my brave wallet, and i will never hold more than $50 in it as its not necessary for me. Once BAT finishes the roadmap you will really only need the wallet if you want to donate, hoard earned coins, possibly pay for premium content with hoarded coins. Depending on how the premium content works out you might deposit your own coins into the browser if you arent earning enough coins for all the services.

What I'm asking is if the browser actually has your key in it, or is it bullshit and the devs still control all of those coins.
