I'm still a fan of GEL for a sweet distribution. Yes, they've gotten their asses kicked in the past year. They had to cut the distribution like a lot of MLPs this year. But, GEL is still currently yielding 9.34% with what I think is a solid operating plan for quarterly dividend increases for the next five years. PFE is about as stable as pharmaceuticals get. When investing in this type of shit though, you for the most part have to operate on expectation of development, which is most always uncertain. I am fine with risk and all but I try to only invest in two of these at a time personally. Start on their website, read through their progress and what products they have. Finding a good pharma that has not already ran requires either tons of research or godly luck.

Question.. I was reading some of my credit card spam emails for the hell of it tonight and started thinking about balance transfers.

Am I being retarded or does it actually make sense to utilize $5000 or $10,000 of my credit line as trading money and just play carefully with it? All my gains after 3% are straight profit excluding Capital gains tax.

I shilled JD a while back at $35-$38 and it looks great right now, almost guaranteed to hit $50 within a week or two. The Google news was unexpected but expect a shitload of news pertaining to their June 18th sale, basically their version of Amazon's "Prime Day". There'll be a bunch of press releases afterwards talking about them breaking all time sales records and other bullshit like that that will reel in a bunch of retail investors and pump the price up some more. I don't want to tell you too much stuff because I was in your shoes three weeks ago, and I pretty much still am.
I used to laugh when BofA would deposit my savings account's interest into my account. Two whole cents. My cup runneth over.
Then I realized I'm retarded because I could put that money to work for me.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Do research on companies, and in the beginning go with blue chips. Blue Chips (large, mature, well-established house hold name companies) are a lot more tolerant to corrections and usually hold, or at least regain their value faster than non-blue chips.

If you just want dividends and to grow your money, funds and blue chips are the way to go.
If you want to day trade, don't day trade any more than you're willing to lose. I have almost all of my equity in good stocks and then the last 5% I set aside for buying stupid stock options on a whim, and that's the extent of my day trading.

Learn to read the market and don't just panic buy/sell/FOMO (fear of missing out) random stocks.

Your goal isn't to get rich quick. It's to beat the market average, AKA, grow your money faster than the rate at which the market is growing.
