Well, here's the pendant. As you can tell it's shit. I'm pretty sure I know how to fix the main issues though, and I'm going to try again when I have more time.
I used a cake pop mold and it worked remarkably well. The problems with this initial stage were the tiny unpoppable bubbles, of which there were millions, and the fact that the resin really liked sliding around. I had to do several coats for the inside of the mold to even be fully covered.
The biggest problem with this was how lumpy it went when I put it together. The resin slid and leaked and set in streaks instead of a neat line, and this made the piece so blurry that I had to go over it again with a coat of resin... which slid and dried in streaks. It's lumpy because I had to use so many coats of resin so you could actually see inside it.
The problems I had that had nothing to do with resin were the fact that I hadn't sculpted something so tiny before and had to go through several shattered mermaids before managing to glue this one in place (though badly), the way that the bead cap slid a bit and cured wonky, and the caviar beads I used, which are all but invisible. The pearls and holographic film show up pretty well when you shake it though.
