She's used to me cosplaying so it's not that odd but I'm always a little nervous to wear Jfashion+wigs around my family. I wore nanchatte for my solo trip to Disney and they saw pics and only got the usual "Is that you?
Why'd you dress so well?"

Because Disney is expensive, it was a lifetime dream trip, and I wasn't about to trot around the most bloody magical place on Earth in shorts and a random tshirt.

Different anon but I think you're being too strict. The whole appeal of nanchatte is getting to experience the carefree life of a student without having to actually stick to the strict dress code of one. There are videos that have been linked here before with school girls saying they have to change their uniforms after classes just to look cute to hang out because they can't wear eyeliner, the school colors are boring (switching a grey cardigan to a pastel or the ever trendy apricot), etc.

I don't think many of us want to drop mad cash on 100% authentic school uniforms, we just want to look cute and feel carefree because most of our school experiences were either boring or outright sucked and we took it all for granted.

If you check just about any interview with adult nanchatte, they got into this solely to experience things they couldn't/didn't as a student like going to amusement parks or cute dates with other students( aka other nanchatte).

tl;dr we care less about being 100% authentic and more towards the feel/experience of it.

Also nanchatte groups when? I'd kill to hang out with other nanchatte and go on a day trip/outing.
