There's a couple of different methods to approaching multicolor material, so I tried to create a (very ugly) visual guide. I hope it helps.

Despite our progress as a community to make patterns more accessible for hard to construct costumes like the one you listed, you'll still need to either 1) look for a pattern made specifically for your character made by an independent creator 2) Frankenstein pieces of multiple patterns together to get your desired effect 3) start using a pattern as a base like, Simplicity 8235 for example, and then draft the missing pieces yourself.
