Hammer progress.
I took anons advice but used rubber cement instead of barge. Picking up some wood filler today so I'll get rolling on that once I get home.
The shape is a little lopsided when you're looking at it straight on but when its held in a natural pose (like swing over the shoulder) it's way less noticable. All in all it's better than my last try so I'm already happy with it in that regard.
