My fatass slob roommate annoys me more every day. He doesn’t have any money issues and is nice, I’ve lived with him for three years, but this is the first year I’ve been with him alone. He works 3.5 days a week max and NEVER leaves the apartment otherwise. 27 years old and sits playing single-player videogames in the dark day in, day out, only leaving his chair to get energy drinks from the fridge or his near nightly delivery wings, pizza, or McDonald’s (yes, delivery McDonald’s) that he’ll disgustingly burp out later.

The point is I think I have a control issue. His life should not affect mine at all but seeing him waste his 20s like this just angers me. Not like pity, but disgust at the absolute state of him and the rest of men whose main “hobby” is videogames. He has done nothing malicious to me and tries to be friendly even if it is an annoying “what are you watching” “what are you working on” when I’m clearly trying to work. I just cannot see how someone can spend 12 hours sitting in one spot staring at a screen, doing something that isn’t creative or gives something to the world, and it pisses me off to think about rather than just be like “well I’m glad it isn’t me.”
