>I'm a transgirl, transitioned in my senior year, three years ago
For context.
>Coming back from con in a pretty decent costume, it was a uniform so had to be pristine
>It's my mother's birthday and I left early to head to hers
>On my way home to change she calls me and has a fit that I'm not there yet (she lives two hours away)
>Can't deal with her and just decide to head straight there, they know I cosplay, whatever
>Arrive at parents, they are both clearly drunk
>Showing me around like a prize pony, mentioning how talented I am (a friend actually made most it and I kept correcting them but they didn't care)
>They keep drinking, I want to head back, I was up at 5am, tired as fuck
>Someone spilt some brightly coloured cocktail on my skirt and I'm cranky as hell
>The older guys keep hitting on me
>Try to leave, stopped at door
>Mum wants to make speeches
>During this, in front of her friends, she gestures to me
>"And look at anon! Can you even believe she used to be a HE?"
>Silence, 80% of the largely Christian room had no idea
>Mother begins showing pictures of me as a young teenager
>The guys who were hitting on me look visibly furious, scares the shit out of me
>Run back to car crying
>Mother calls me to shout at me for making a scene
>Get home and hide under blankets for a couple of days

Family, huh?

>not going home for christmas
>no one coming to visit
>bought 2k worth of burando for myself
>spent 1k on presents for friends
>no presents from anyone
everyone was super grateful but i don't think anyone realizes how sad i am...everyone is busy trying to make things nice and happy for everyone but me
