So, today my first resin order arrived in the mail, and I just couldn't let it sit alone for yet another day as I've already waited 1,5 month for it to arrive. Picrelated is my first experiment with the resin (there was another one, but it didn't finished hardening before sunset). I tried to dye it with my eyeshadows, but as you can see it didn't work well for me - there are bits of pigment which just didn't dissolve in the resin no matter how hard I tried to stir it thoroughly. I also don't understand yet how do I make the edges even - I tried to cast very slowly and carefully, but still ended up rough. Perhaps, any advice? Also, I tried UV resin today, but I'm going for two-component tomorrow or the day after that, and one thing keeps bothering me: how do I mix the resin the way I keep proportions right? I mean, when pouring resin/hardener into a mixing pot I expect that some resin is left on the sides of measuring cups, won't it ruin the proportion?
