/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

Situation: I'm doing an MH cosplay of the Huntsman and have some spare time. Initialy i didnt plan on making the sword, because its a lot of Material and i cant take it to many conventions(stupid german weapon rules)but it seems like an good eyecatcher even only for leaning on it
Questions:
1 Does it pay off to build such monstrum
2 would a sheethed version be enough for an eyecatcher
3 is there a special procedure to make MH weapons so they dont end up either wobbly or too thicky, or being heavy enough to kill someone by accident
