The Nerd in Denial

You don’t often see this stereotype hanging around with other geeks in areas geeks tend to congregate, as she is trying very hard not to let anyone know of her true proclivities. She orders her fantasy books off Amazon, instead of going to the local bookstore and risking being seen in the sci-fi/fantasy section. She doesn’t share her Xbox gamer tag with anyone, lest there be someone that sees that she can easily whip her brother in Halo, and she spends 12 hours a week on World of Warcraft. She will never be seen at a convention, because there might be someone there that recognizes her and her cover will be blown.

I include her because she is a stereotype. If this is you: you’re not alone. Also, you’re not as good at hiding your hobbies as you think.
