What kind of paint should I use on foam pieces that flex?

I used spray paint on a plastidip primer on some foam armor pieces last year, and any small amount of flex made cracks in the paint.
Now I have 3 chainsaw pieces like this, 2 for arms and 1 on a helmet. The arm pieces have a thin metal piece in them so they don't flex as much, but the helmet one does not. I'm scared of ruining the paint job as soon as I move my head and the chainsaw piece wobbles around
