This has its own thread because it was requested and I don't want to derail threads.

Want to contribute? Email: newlolitaguide@protonmail.com

What the guide will be / have:
- A well-written, modern explanation on the fashion that doesn't handhold or awkwardly explain it. It will be beginner accessible (meaning: no lingo or unnecessary abbreviations), but not infantilizing.

- An attempt to keep Lolita alive from individuals who seem adamant on making lolita something that it isn't (read: kinksters, people incapable of respecting the culture and history of the fashion, creeps, abusers, and other unsavory people).

- A somewhat lengthy "culture" page on how to handle criticism and navigate online Lolita spaces, on some of the "rules"/"standards" of the subculture and an explanation of why they exist, and more if you have suggestions. No, there will be no mention of 4chan.

Why I am undertaking this project:

- I like Lolita. It's legitimately depressing and frustrating seeing what was once a really interesting subculture get derailed by people who think they can make their own "lolita dress" with a bedsheet, kinksters who seem adamant on making Lolita their own space, sissies with no decorum who just want a place to put on cat ears and a pink dress, etc.

- I realized if I liked Lolita so much, it would do well to contribute.

Who am I:

- I wear EGA.
- Born in the '90s.
- Not white, so save your racebaiting.
- A lawyer by profession, hence the need for an online alias ("Butler"). I have a legitimate career and therefore do not want my name or face associated with anything. I'm also too ugly for the internet.

I am not above criticism and I am not offended by anything. If you want to change or impact the community in a positive way, please provide your criticisms, critiques, or comments in the thread or via email.

This is a project I am working on. It will be hosted on my own domain (hopefully). I don't want to see the subculture perish because people are too afraid of being seen as "gatekeepers". To not derail, I will not go into much detail but if someone wants this as a new topic, I will make it happen.

I have no desire to parrot a lot of information already accessible elsewhere, but I do want to focus a lot on the culture of the fashion and subculture.

Email is listed above, but it is: newlolitaguide@protonmail.com

Send me your questions, concerns, and suggestions there. Suggestions will be vetted for accuracy but likely included if they are reasonable and intelligent.
