But I also see many tutorials using this pattern for the hoodie, so which one is actually the best way?

Kigurumi tutorial for Kyo or whomever from Fruits Basket, but can easily be used for any character or a basic design.

Hoods are the hardest parts, though.

The girl who made pic related did a walkthrough on her blog with photos on how she put it together. I found it useful the first time I made a kigu.

Google: Kigurumi of Kyo from Fruit Basket HushPlush

to find it. 4chan won't let me drop the link here.

I like this one. The Espurr one looks creepy and not as of the same quality (put more effort in for yourself than your hub, huh? haha)

I recommend next time lining your hoods with a contrasting (or not) colored fabric. Makes it even comfier as well as more professional looking.
You could also change the shape of the hood pieces slightly so that you have an entirely smooth front piece in which to make the face on, instead of having the seam across the front. (It works for yours but it sort of hurts the Espurr.)
Do that by making "hood part 1" of this tutorial extra large.
I'm still working out the kinks in how I do mine measurement-wise, because I waste a lot of extra fabric that gets cut off and hemmed under, but my faces on the hoods are full and fluffy!

With that said, anyone have tips for making these for babies? My boyfriend's best friend is babybound in December and I thought a few small Pokemon kigus would make for a great gift from us.

Here's another tutorial!
I've been tempted to make a witch one from Madoka, the ones I've seen done are so amazing and adorable.
