I'm a really reserved persons so it's really hard for me to make friends and open up to new people. I've been hanging around with a group of cosplayers at my uni now for several weeks and I'm really struggling trying to get past the stage I'm at where I occasionally hang around and talk to them but never become real friends with them and hang out on the weekends and go to cons together and stuff. They're all really nice and I want to get closer to all of them but it's just so hard for me. I know it's my own fault for taking very little initiative in trying to talk to them and be friends with them but this has always been hard for me and I've always taken a long time to open up to new people.
There's a local con coming up in about a month and a half and I think going with them might help me become better friends with them (plus I don't really have a group anymore because the people in my old group stopped going to cons) but I have a feeling that if I do that I'm just going to be hovering and getting in the way and not really enjoying myself.
