Back when I was sixteen, me and my other weeb friends would occasionally have meetups where we would just hang around in public places talking about glorious Nippon. Most of my weeb friends were girls younger than me, but this one time there was a guy who had a really similar taste in J-bands, videogames, etc and we really hit it off. Being a socially awkward and shy weeb, for the first time in my life I had met a guy who didn't think I was a disgusting weirdo. He lived in a different city, but we kept in touch online and became really good friends.

A few months later he comes to visit me.

After he had rejected me, I was heartbroken but tried to change myself into a better person, learned to apply make-up and dress myself. A few weeks have passed since we talked and out of the blue I receive a text message from him where he apologises about his behavior and asks if we could meet up. I'm on my guard, but agree to meet him because I still care for him a lot even though he's been a jerk.

We meet up and he's sorry about what happened between us. This time he's super nice to me, buys me a PS2 slim to make up for his douchiness. This time I manage to stay cool and he confesses his feelings for me.

Almost 9 years later we're still happily together and going on our very first vacation in Japan later this month!
