Hey /cgl/ (photographers in particular) -

How can I ask a photographer about tipping without coming off rude? This is west coast, where cosplay photogs don't charge as often, if at all.
>ridiculously fast turnaround time - a dozen images ready the DAY AFTER
>awesome direction and efficient use of setting/time
>good overall quality - normally I don't like more than two or three photos out of a set, but a LOT of these shots are great
He's never mentioned money - neither on his page/information or brought it up in person; I'm pretty sure he does photography/conventions as a hobby. Should I just offer to buy him lunch the next time I run into him?

I've only brought up tipping to a photographer once in the past, and she very quickly affirmed that she was only in it for personal enjoyment and didn't want to monetize her hobby. We fell out of contact after that, and while most of that is probably because she stopped doing cosplay photography, I was always "what-if" on if some small part of that may have been because of my question (and a double bummer because she was another photographer whose work I *loved*).
