Not saying that muscle isn't muscle but just to be fair training for hypertrophy and training for strength makes a difference.

You'll probably catch some flak from /cgl/ types especially since the muscle is a big part of his character but I'd say do it. You're pretty cut which helps a lot and will make you look bigger than you are.

For real though the most important part of cosplay is the actual cosplay. Though I agree /cgl/ tends to be overly critical in a hobby meant to be fun. It's fine in cosplay contests but gulls tend to take the piss out of regular people.

As long as he's wearing clothes it shouldn't even be obvious that he's super muscular, esp since most anime designs have long sleeves or layers. Which is to say do whatever you want basically. Only reason he'd look silly as a girly boy type character is if he has an especially manly face I think (barring actually little girly boy type characters like nagisa).
