I work part-time in retail at the local mall while being a full-time student. I'm really unhappy with it but I don't have anything else to fall back on. It's really affecting my grades and mental wellbeing. I'm stressed about money all the time because the pay is not enough and the work is demanding.

Lately they've been making me a backup person for a sales specialist position (when they're not there, but of course they haven't mentioned more pay). We really should be getting commissioned pay, but the company fears competition among associates. We have to track individual sales though. We also have to push credit which I get a lot of, but there are rarely any incentives.

They also throw all new people at me, and since I feel bad for them I try to help them (there is no training, just throwing people out on the floor). I sometimes end up doing two jobs at once because of this. I feel like a lead but I'm just a lowly associate.

They rely on a lot of call-in shifts and use this to manipulate part-timers into working over their available hours. The only way for me to manage school is to work around 20 hours or less a week. They will schedule me about 16-18 and then slip a call-in in there that they always use and put me up to 24-26. They'll also put me on closings which you never know what time you'll get to leave. This puts me up a couple additional hours to around 28 usually.

The manager can turn into a bitch easily, so I'm too scared to say anything. I just want to quit. The job is cool as a summer/winter break job, but that's it.

I considered selling plasma to get by until then, but I'm scared of needles and feel pathetic if I have to resort to selling parts of my body off.

Panser/Danielle annoys the shit out of me on youtube, I didn't want to watch her on this.
