>Confused and explain that I forgot about it and didn't remember making plans with them at all
>"Oh. Message us if you plan on going to an of the upcoming cons then."
>Sure thing friends! Try to start a casual conversation now that we're all here again

>lay in bed a couple days later pondering life and friends
>realize that I've always been the one to pay for and do most of the planning for the cons since I was kind of the mom of the group
>realize slowly that all the times we've talked since going off to school has been around upcoming cons
>realize all at once that they've been picking up communication so I'd take them to cons and the reason they were nowhere to be found otherwise is because none were happening in the tri-state area
>stare at ceiling blankly for the rest of the night thinking about the fact that they've probably been using me since we were in school together
>feel bitter and decided to take my father to his first con instead and test out my thought
>upload pictures on fb and not 2 hrs later get angry messages about how it's not fair that I excluded them in OUR convention time and how dare I not take them
>remind them that they're all adults with jobs and could have gone if they wanted to

>feel kind of good because I finally got closure but numb because I honestly thought we were really friends

At least I found a new buddy to go to local cons with, my dad enjoyed it and now he and my mother help me make my cosplay props and accessories, so I'm glad I can share that with them. Sorry for the word vomit though, just wanted to bitch a bit.
