I didn't even know anime conventions existed until my sister took me to one 3 years ago. I wish I knew about these when I was in high school. The competition was great and I met many good people.

There's no story behind the costume. I made it when I was 26 and at that time I already had developed a lot of useful resources and skills from my career. The costume was just the result of having a lot of time.

The costume won because it covered all the details and was an actual suit of armor made of steel and leather.
