I think Chinese lolitas is where they make cash these days. And since they have the money and don't care about quality as much those expensive monstrosities is what you get. I miss the days when their painting dresses where below 30000 yen, which was considered expensive at that time. La Fée d'une Fleur rerelease has even doubled in price and I remember whiteknights trying to argue that it has to do with inflation. However if you actually calculate the inflation from between 2008-2018 you will see that the inflation was about ~3% which means a price increase of only 900yen. Combined with with the 2%consumption tax increase since 2008 that would make a total increase of roughly ~1500 yen. So tl;dr: Something doesn't add here.
