Did a quick little compilation for you that took me 5 seconds on google image search merely by typing in "oil paintings / renaissance paintings / classical paintings, etc. of women." I mean, if you think women actually, naturally blush this way, then I don't know if I can do any convincing. These paintings are obvious exaggerations to play on youth, make them appear more "innocent," etc. Any visual culture / history class would have taught you that. The whole goal is to make them seem well, more doll-like? Same shit tumblrites are doing, just with a bit more tact and skill. It's literally rooted in the same ideology and purpose.
