A bunch of people who wanted to bring the comm back alive joined up in a facebook group and decided they were going to do everything right from here on out. (because they thought it could be that simple. Don't they know about the drama that comes with being a lolita?)
They were gonna attract more new people to the comm, organize bigger meetups, more original (themed?) meetups, that kind of thing, just sorta... rejuvenate the comm. Which it kinda needed.
First thing they wanted was a better name because "Dutch Lolitas (Official Facebook Group)" is a boring-ass name that attracts no one, but at least it's functional I guess.
Everyone was pretty enthusiastic, and then a few people from the "oude garde" including a few mods decided that this was useless senseless bullshit and why would you want this. I was kinda appalled by how negative people were about this. Everyone had good intentions and they were shot down just like that. If you wanna ruin the comm, that's the way to do it.
They got a poll which didn't work out very well, but with a big of nagging they managed to get the name changed to "Royal Ribbons" which is hella kawaii but hard to find. Because it was hard to find, we still needed to be called "Dutch Lolitas (Official Facebook Group)" otherwise we'd never get more members. So... the name wasn't changed. Nothing happened. Except at the bottom of the banner, it states "home of the Royal Ribbons". I think everyone's already forgotten that it even says that, at this point.

Anyway, the facebook group fell kinda silent after that. One or two people from that group became a mod of the main facebook group, which has changed things for the better a bit.
If I had to guess, everyone got discouraged after seeing the sheer willpower it takes to fight the established leadership. I can't blame them. I've had similar run-ins with them, and I didn't want to keep trying either.

I did a trip experiment.
we all know that /cgl/ goes absolutely retarded over trips, but to what extent?
people who put on trips just to talk to others and hang out here are despised
are trips who put on trip to help others out cherished?
what about trips that only put on trip to say nice things?
we all know chokelate is worshipped, but why?

for two months, I would put on trip purely to say nice things to other anons
and put on a different trip when I posted content.

again, off trip, I could post the same and no one would care, would actually get compliments for my content. under trip, I recieved insults.

IF I responded, or even posted in the thread afterwards, It would create new trip vendettas. "omg stop talking, its all your fault" "you derailed a perfectly good thread by posting in it jfc"

outside of trip, no one gave a shit.
so, the conclusion is
