ITT: Hotels you wish would host a convention but haven’t yet

>Hotel in pic is the Gaylord Palms Orlando
>Nice hotel
>Cheaper rooms than Katsu Gaylord
>Awesome photoshoot areas ranging from a mock pirate fortress, fog machined swamp, fake boat in indoor lagoon, bitchin pool
>Would be a better hotel venue than most Orlando cons and Megacon venue, would second only to Holiday Matsuri

I stayed there once when I was a kid and was amazed by it. I’d never seen anything like it. It looks so much better than DC imo.

Speaking of Gaylords, the Colorado one just completed construction and opened on December 18th. Its the future home of NDK. Can't wait to use those nice new loading docks to load in all of my arcade machines :)

True, as nice as the hotel is and as awesome as a con would be there I can’t help but shake the feeling they’d only put up with it for 2 or 3 years at most unless they make an assload of money

Speaking of another Gaylord, the Gaylord Opryland would be great, too.
Plenty of rooms, lots of indoor garden spaces
It's next to a big mall as well

That would be a great location for a con. The only Nashville con I know of is wizard world or whatever, maybe someone should make his happen. The location next to Opry Mills mall would be very cool as well

Gaylord Nashville is fucking BEAUTIFUL, it would be amazing for a con! They just opened up an indoor water park too :3

Literally anywhere with reasonable parking and/or free/cheap shuttle between parking and hotel/event area.
Momo-con is an absolute mess when it comes to parking.

>Hotel
My perpetual pipe dream is a con cruise. It'd be a very lengthy trip (probably a week or so) and definitely a wildly expensive one compared to any other convention, but having a whole series of cosplayers, weebs, and other losers on a cruise ship with all of the potential benefits of photo-ops, all-you-can-eat food, room parties belowdeck when they are already ready for room parties, and all of the like sounds like paradise to me.

Yes, I know it's literally only a matter of time before some bozo loses their hat because they don't know how the wind works, or until some bitch decides to start drama and can't just leave the con because they're miles away from any actual coastline, but the idyllic version of this still stays in my heart.

>> No.10071697

>>10071689
That sounds awesome on paper but I could already imagine the smell. Thousands of drunk weaboos stuck on a boat for a few days sounds like a nightmare.

You think it wouldn't be with it being at the GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTRE. The largest fucking venue in this state... not to mention the Mercedes stadium. But nope...

Same shit with AWA. I love the hotel it's at, but it's too small for it now.

I remember going there as a kid and being so astounded. The place is really beautiful. I'd love to see a convention there. I'd go in a heartbeat.

Just get a bunch of con friends together and go on a cruise. Cosplay everyday. Normie cruise pax would love it, seriously wouldn't even be odd. Your entire group would probably make a bunch of normie friends with old folks and have a blast in general.

My dream is to go on a Disney cruise with a bunch of lolitas.

Yeah nah in europe you have convention centers and then hotels start gathering around it but they're not affliated. There's some hotels that have con halls but they're not large enough for the big cons, only for tiny unimportant cons of maybe a thousand people at most.

And here in Spain since tickets are spool cheap (people say 10€ for a day @ Japan weekend Madrid is expensive) the only way the organizers can break even/get some money is renting out a buttload of commercial stands(so,Spanish cons are basically huge dealers rooms) which mostly sell overpriced fake merch from Ali for 12yo kids whose parents don't let them buy online. unless it's a big con, there are barely any guests or talks, and they are rarely the big selling point for most attendees. Also, I'm not a cosplayer but I keep hearing about not so good prizes. But,hey, even your 100k inhabitants town can have it's own con for young weebs to wander around for 3€ a day!

I was so close to buying a ticket and going, but since it's the first time they're doing this I want to see how it goes first. Being stuck on a boat with a bunch of disgusting neckbeards orbiting one or two sluts and their Chad keeper sounds like hell. A huge party cruise sounds awesome though, just without the unshowered neckbeard swarm.
