When I first got into the fashion like around 2009 or so, I was scared of egl livejournal because I was used to forums but it didn't feel anon enough. I was part of a fairly quiet lolita forum. I think it was a euro forum? I remember there being a very beautiful girl with extremely long straight hair, an older girl (maybe a mod) who was very into Django Reinhardt and gypsy guitar, and a girl whose DD was pic related. It was a very friendly and small forum, mostly classic and gothic lolitas I think, and they were very kind to me as a useless noob who just wanted to understand. I know it's not much, but does anyone know what that forum might have been?

A lot of people had dumb edgy usernames back then. I remember when LJ and its offshoots were starting to turn SJW (“you can’t say something is stupid, that’s ableist!!”) and much of it was coming from people who were making “surprise buttsex” jokes only a few months earlier.

>>10074878
IIRC it was because they sat and laid down on the actual gravestones, which is a bit different than just posing next to them. If I went to visit my granddad’s grave and saw some weird gothic doll girl pose next to it I wouldn’t really care but if she were sprawled out on top it would ruffle my jimmies a bit. Their reaction to the initial criticism was in the vein of “lol fuck the haters” too and I’m sure we all know how well that goes down in most online communities.

My friend recently shared a link to an old Youtube video, it was a clip from a TV program that featured two Lolita’s from my country. In the comments people were reacting stuff like how one was too fat and the other too ita, and that they both were a big disgrace for our community. It surprised me that the girl was not hiding who she was, but then I remembered that back in the days people in our comm just publicly shitted on other members. Can you imagine something like that happening now? If you do not give someone asspats, your pretty much bullied out of the community with all those SJWs.

>> No.10076117

>>10076113
Eh I think it's not necessarily about social justice, but that we are becoming more aware of being kind to other people. Kindness in and of itself is not necessarily related to social justice. I for one am glad that our Communities have come down a little bit, I remember back in the day people like Celticfreefall picking on people who were younger and prettier than them just because they could. Nowadays we wouldn't really stand for that. Yes, we're more shady and salty, but we're less actively malicious. I think that's a good thing.

This is pretty much the whole of it.
Her fans were super creepy, buying dresses from her just because "milkyfawn wore this dress", and the real ugly shit emerged when she stopped doing deerstalker videos. Fans acted like they were entitled to her as a public figure but she just didn't want it and people talked real nasty shit just because she wanted to step back from it. Her addiction to buying lolita was pretty publicly apparent and materialism was even very noticeable in her videos.

Last I heard, she hasn't worn lolita in ages and is living a minimalist lifestyle. I imagine it's a good change for her, I hope she's doing well.

It's so shallow of me but I always remember feeling sorry for Amy Tasukada back on egl. She was so sweet and helpful and I remember her being an extremely active member of the community. She had the right figure for lolita and I believe her husband was Japanese so she had access to jp only brands and bought from them frequently but she just does not have the face for it.

Man, I feel like she could do herself a lot of favors with a cuter haircut, more stylish glasses, and some liberal application of makeup.

>>10086606
She was so active I was shocked to see her LJ deleted. Her youtube is still up but she hasn't posted anything lolita related in quite a while, it's mostly yaoi stuff. Maybe she just gave up.

She seems so fitting for classic, though. I think some minor styling and makeup would make her just fine.

I love Novala Takemoto's writing. You can really tell she loves the fashion by the way she writes about it.

Honestly, I think it's just that she has never bothered to get decent/more stylish glasses never learned to do her makeup or hair in a way that actually makes her look nicer (as opposed to "I am wearing makeup, have glasses on and tried to do my hair). It's like..she knows she can't follow the Japanese makeup tutes because she has the big nose, deep set eyes and quite low brows but instead of googling for tutorials that she could adapt and suit her she literally learned to do the bare minimum and never changed it. She reminds me of a high school kid who never grew into themselves in their 20s.

Being mentally ill and hating yourself basically. After becoming a cam girl she started gaining weight from shitty habits, and instead of working on herself she decided to quit camming and be a neet.

Add on impulsive shitty tattoos and a few years she got fat and hates herself more. She got a boob job which made her look fatter and half did camming for a bit before stopping to leech off her parents again. She recently got lipo too but clearly gained it back. She shaved her head a few months ago and tried to get a makeup job but lasted a month.

You can see she doesn’t want to be alive anymore

Oh man I gained 5 pounds since the holidays and this picture scared me so much I’m starting my diet (tomorrow)

But having gone through the whole post-ED weight gain thing, I sympathize. She is probably genetically predisposed to be overweight and I shouldn’t gloat for not being so

3rd degree retail fraud with a $200 bond, which I guess means she (and Mike, they got arrested together) got caught shoplifting.
No idea why she was shoplifting though. Didn't she used to brag about how both her parents were lawyers and she was set for life?

Charms was the epitome of the shitty personality with an angel face. I used to think Dakota was that way, but she was more like the edgelord shitty personality that edited herself to look cute and marketed herself right in Japan. It's sad how they were both friends and one successfully modeled in Japan and the other became a camwhore. There's no getting around the fact Charms looked far better of the two and both were pretty controversial.

>>10096850
>>10096864
I used to think "karma got her" and was smug about that like most people, but it's kind of depressing how far she fell. She was clearly mentally ill and never had anyone but enablers. Imagine if Charms got on proper medication, apologized, got real help, a real job, and stayed in lolita. I think she could've easily modeled or been a kawaii ambassador if she put her past behind her. She never would've had to have stripped for it either.
