Oops I still replied to the old thread. But is anyone following the Antoinette Decoration listing on Fril? What’s up with that seller?!
First it was 40,000¥, then it got discounted to 30,000¥. Three shopping sevices replied if they could buy it. Then it was reserved at 33,000¥ by a buyer I have seen before, but I am not sure if it is a Shopping Service as well. I think they didn’t buy it as it is listed again now at 35,000¥. The seller is like “No price deductions” but she originally sold it for less...
I really hope AP re-releases this series. It’s really hard to get the items for less than the original price.

Are there any California lolitas around? I'm planning a trip to San Francisco to visit BTSSB and AP, but am wondering if there's any other stores in the area we should go to that are cute. I have people coming with me that are into anime, so weeby stores would work as well.

Also, I wanted to go out for a day in lolita to shop, is this wise? Are there any areas of San Francisco that are too unsafe for this? What should I expect, as far as harassment and things like that?

>> No.10127946

>>10127886

There's actually a decent sized lolita comm in the bay area, but you should check for a facebook or something to contact them. (I am not in a comm.) San Francisco and San Jose both have Japantowns, but San Francisco's is bigger and has a spread out mall full of all kinds of stuff. Anime stores, make-up, snacks, restaurants, Magazies/manga, purikura, and BTSSB is there in the New People building. If you want to go out in lolita I would recommend J-town.

There are a lot of areas where homeless people and sometimes people with issues wander around. AP is in downtown SF and occasionally there is a weirdo outside. (They lock the door sometimes.) In general it's fine. But it is a city, so use common sense. Stay in a group. I'd avoid super touristy areas while wearing lolita, you'll probably get your photo taken by randos a lot.

Enjoy your trip!

Personally to me it's extremely disrespectful to take someone's photo without asking. It's treating someone as an attraction or sideshow rather than as a human being out living their life. Yes it's an eye catching alternative fashion, but that isn't licence to suddenly forget all common decency and manners. I'm still human, and you can show me the bare minimum of respect by asking for a picture. I don't think I've ever turned down a request, and I wouldn't even mind candids if I was shown after the fact. But having a camera shoved in my face all the sudden or having people trying to "sneakily" photograph me pisses me off.

Because it's rude? I was standing with my husband on the sidewalk and wasn't wearing anything loud at all imo. It's rude to directly take a photo of someone rather than scenery, which is what this guy did. I'm only assuming he was a tourist based on that action alone.

I wouldn't go back to AP SF because of where is located and the proximity to Market Street. Also the shop had hardly anything and it was over priced. I visit Japan often enough I don't have reason to go to that specific store ever again.

Someone else mentioned SF Japantown and I'd 100% recommend. It's got the biggest Daiso in the whole region (maybe the whole US)? Also has purikura! Not sure how you're traveling, but I highly encourage parking in the Japantown garage if you do visit. It's a bit pricey, but it's extremely safe compared to street parking. You can see a live count of spaces left on their website.

Having said that, AP is not near Japantown, and most of SF is sad. I actually hate going into SF because it's so dirty and hobo camps are everywhere. I wouldn't venture outside of the specific shops you want to go (aka, don't "take a stroll" in lolita through SF). Japantown is nice though. No one's gonna bother you there.

New Moite x Krad Lanrete dress was just released after being teased sometime ago. It comes in black and white, and will run about $368 usd.

Can't say I'm really a fan, but I didn't have high expectations in the first place.

Since both Hospitality Doll and D.Walkure are being discussed again — why doesn’t anyone talk about Engelsbeginn as much? It’s part of the D.Walkure series but less Nazi, and nurse themed like HD but cuter and less costumey, with more interesting construction.

The owner is a bit standoffish right now, and begrudgingly agreed to allow Mami to model after the entire crew spoke in her favor. The last panels are someone seeing a picture of Mami in Lolita someone posted online and him commenting that he knows her in real life.

The article says goth manifested itself in China as gothic lolita so I see why they're included. I don't know anything about the goth subculture in China to say whether or not that's true but it is what it is.
However, I find this whole situation stupid, these people are really trying to seem like they're ~so oppressed~. Yeah, it's kind of shitty that that employee tried to make the customer take her makeup off but that's not this big oppressive action everyone's making it out to be. She really shouldn't have to, but it's not a huge deal to take her makeup off for a few hours. She's not going to be any less goth for being bare-faced for the duration of a flight.

Also for all the people blowing this up to be some giant human rights issue, this poster is right, it's not. This is literally just one uneducated employee who pulled an ill-advised dick move. Yes there's harm in telling that girl she had to take her makeup off. No this isn't a systematic oppression or some law or something. Literally one dumb person incurring the wrath of a particular online community. Happens all the time and will continue to happen until someone can magically cure the world of dumb people. Chinese scalpers max out the order limit, and then grab all their friends to hit that order limit, who probably would use credit cards in the 1st scalper's name to buy it.

Someone actually in Japan who has experience buying in store would have more info about it, this is just my guess.
