I'm a diff anon and I hate to jump in here, but as someone at 35% bodyfat who spent a long time trying to look at those visual guides and figure out my percentage, as well as a number calculator based on my weight, she probably is. We aren't all that different in build. Ex-fatty-chan here. I think if you like the fashion ernestly and want to actually look good in it you will try to be a healthy weight. I never touched Lolita until I got myself under being overweight because I had the self awareness to see myself in the mirror and see that it looked bad on me at my current weight.
Of course you can always dress for your size and find flattering clothing even if you are 200 lbs but Lolita is not designed with girls that big in mind so it just looks bad even if they have the taste to pick good colors and coord well.

Honestly, with most hamplanets there's usually a shitton of other things going on, or rather, not going on. Really, if you can't look good in normal clothes, lolita isn't going to fix that. In fact, the dressier your dress, the more the contrast between how much work and care went into your intricately detailed frilly lace dress, and how much work *didn't* go into your own personal grooming, even small little things such as whether your nails are chipped become a big eyesore, let alone things like whether your hair looks like you last washed it three weeks ago and it looks like dead seaweed on your pimple planet face because you're fat and can't be arsed to care about your appearance.

Hate to break your bubble, but this dress is pretty much doomed -- the skirt is nowhere near wide enough. so it's always going to be a sad little tube that, no matter if you overstuff or understuff, will always make the wearer look fat and misshapen. The hips/butt will always fill out the hip area of the dress, but where the bottom of the skirt is supposed to be even bigger to provide contrast for the small waist, it's too narrow. So the silhoutte simply looks odd and the wearer will look like they have a large waist due to how narrow the skirt is. People really need to remember that the skirt needs to be 3x your waist, no smaller.

As for the bodice - if they can't be arsed to match an obvious horizontal print like this, they should look at burando and copy them. Cut the pieces slightly angled to match the print, then cover up the seam with some lace so it's not obvious that the print does not perfectly match.

And *then* after that comes all the other stuff like all of the lace, trim and findings are simply horrible cheap quality and should just be tossed straight in the bin, never mind being used for a lolita dress. I get that maybe this is a poor newbie, but in that case I'd really rather they save up all their money and splurge it on one nice matte satin bow, rather than get 10 yards of this cheap lace that makes the dress look even worse. IW's printed dress designs are pretty good inspiration for how good dresses can look with minimal print.

Oh, and we're ignoring that atrocious blouse, I'm just assuming that's some leftover project they'll throw out soon.
