Most people do not wear historical costumes as everyday wear because it is not practical, even more so than lolita. People typically go to special events to wear them, or host private parties.

>>10136360
I was going to bring her up! She does historically inspired fashion that is more practical to wear while still retaining a historical influence.

You really can't get away with full rococo dress every day (due more than anything to the sheer impracticality), but I feel like you CAN get away with outfits that are very heavily inspired. And I mean very heavily. I know she's something of a meme at this point but some of Vicore's Rococo stuff was in the right direction, or Lizchen R's as well.

>> No.10136381

I’ve been getting into historical costuming lately. I’ve been sewing for a while and I when I stopped finding lolita fun and challenging it seemed like a logical next step. I have made a few 18th century gowns, and just finished my first Victorian outfit last week. You definitely need to really hunt to find events to wear them to.

That said they are a special magic all their own to have all the right bits and pieces. You just feel so beautiful and put together.
