I am guilty of having fun with friends when the camera comes up on meetups, such as squatting, making silly faces, arranging a multi-person pose for laughs etc. Naturally this is only done after proper and ladylike pictures have already been taken, and trust me, I behave during the meets. But these silly pictures remain long after the photoshoot and I recently got self conscious about my image if introduced to new and prospective members of the comm. Am I cringe-content? Simply childish? I just don't know.

Why worry about it? Even normies do dumb poses, it's hardly scandalous behaviour. Anyone who actually judges you that harshly based on a few silly pictures is probably not worth talking to.

I have a like hate relationship with this. Personally i hate when people try and make me part of it, like when I'm stuck in the center of a group photo and they decide let's do a dumb one. I don't want to present myself that way.

However I do enjoy some humorous photos of others in lolita, like when if something is actually funny about it. When lolitas do retarded faces and lift their skirts to reveal bloomers etc. That's when it becomes cringe.

Also can we collectively just stop the jojo pose group pic? Not all of us like or know them.

A lot of the times it's just not funny. Exposing bloomers and scrunching up your face aren't funny. They might have been at some point but now it's overplayed and boring.

I actually prefer pictures like this. You're having fun and living life, fuck anyone who thinks you always need to be picture perfect. Just be respectful enough to yourself to take nice pictures now and then too. Even if you're embarrassed about your past self, it was still a part of you, and you should cherish that and be mindful of what life changes you've experienced since then that has changed your perspective into who you are now. Appreciate life more, appreciate yourself more, and be kind! You were younger, and if you don't feel like that's you anymore then by all means stop, but you'll be a lot more at peace and learn a lot more if you don't reject who you used to be. I look back at cringe shit I used to do, and even if it still makes me cringe, it reminds me of how much I've developed.
